An Executor of an estate is an individual appointed to administer the estate.

As the administrator your main duty is to manage the estate,

in accordance with the ‘Will’.

 

Duties include:

  • Notify all beneficiaries
  • Obtaining ‘Probate’ from the supreme court (QLD)
  • Maintaining and Protecting the estate assets.

Whoever you choose to serve as your Executor:   

  • Be sure to get their approval before naming him or her in your Will.

Once you’ve made your choice, then let him or her know where you keep all your:  

  • Important documents and financial information.
  • Once the Will is established, go over your financial details with that person.
